Genealogy Historical Collections Grandma's Writings Old Pictures

I do not claim to be the kind of genealogist that would attempt to find all my ancestors in my family tree. However, I do find it interesting to go off on different branches and discover interesting twists and turns of the tree. While researching the Bryan line, I  bounced to another branch and found I was a 9 generation grandson of the original owner of what is now Historic Williamsburg. I was feeling pretty good until I saw the following chart and realized with that many generations back, I had 512 grandparents.

1    Harry D. Bryan
2  Dott Bryan and Lois Crowson
4   William Bates Bryan and Julia E. Conner - William Walter Crowson and Myrtle Tarwater

While looking at the Crowsons of Wears Valley, this line continues for twelve generations through my grandchildren, which means they have 2048 grandparents. So, whenever we meet someone on the street, we can guess that if we go back far enough, we are related.

I hope you enjoy the material that is on this site. Much of it comes from Blanche and Ben Crowson who loaned me the material to reproduce and hopefully preserve for future generations. Other genealogical material comes from Bill Crowson's book, Crowson Genealogy. Bill lives in Florence, Alabama. The rest is my own collection of genealogical material that I had collected prior to my computer crashing several years ago. I have since learned to back up data and hopefully, that will not happen again.

Enjoy
